The Blessings in Indianapolis,
Indiana
We converted a pole barn into
our church. When we first started looking at the
property it seemed the doors were going to close on
us. We were bidding against another church that
wanted to buy it. Rev Ashmore was in town for a
revival and knew about the land we were looking at.
One of the nights of Revival he told the
congregation that we were going to drive over to the
land and circle it 7 times claiming it in the name
of the Lord. Their was a driveway that pretty much
went around the perimeter of the land. Oh what a
blessing to see people piling in other people's cars
and heading over to take the challenge.
Now lets fast forward a couple months. God gave us
the land! Everything went through and the
congregation is now the owner of 2 acres of land
with a pole barn in the back. Rev Woodlee stood in
front of the congregation with the good news that
the land was ours and the money we had in escrow
helped us purchase it by providing the down payment
and closing costs. The bad news was we had no money
to turn this pole barn into a church. It looked
bleak. How was our little church with Sunday numbers
running in the 40's going to raise the money to
change an unheated gravel floored garage into a
church.
Lets find out by listening to the testimony of one
member of the congregation.
"I have something to praise God for. As many of you
know, here in Indy we recently bought land and have
been working to get the pole barn that was on the
land usable for church. We had no money left after
we purchased the land so many people stepped up and
gave to the building fund. Not one or two giving
hundreds, but many giving thousands of dollars. It
has been such a blessing to see the giving.
I had recently had to quit my job and started a new
one and had not given anything compared to what
others had given. It had me down that while others
gave I could barely get by, but God always provided.
A few days ago I was blessed with a monetary
blessing that I could not even contain. The windows
of heaven truly opened. I felt guilty knowing that
God had so richly blessed me when I had done nothing
to deserve it.
At that moment I realized that everything
in my life fell into that category.
I did nothing to deserve the mercy and grace that
God had given me when I knelt to pray. I had done
nothing to deserve the health of my children. I have
done nothing to deserve the grace that every day I
walk under. Praise God for His mercy. Praise God for
His grace. Praise God for the blessings He pours out
every day. May His praises be heard everywhere I go
for great is the grace of Jesus Christ. He deserves
all the praise we could ever give. If I spent every
day on the rooftop singing His praise it would not
be enough. Every day I will continue to praise Him,
not for the blessings, but for the grace and mercy I
do not deserve. Praise God for teaching me grace."

Blessings on top of blessings have been happening.
Seeing heaven opening up and blessings pouring out
to the congregation is a blessing in itself. I have
provided many pictures of our journey through it
all.
Everyone giving, everyone sharing. Our little church
has come together so they could have a place to
worship and call their own.
