Developing A Character
Before we begin to captivate the masses, we first have to develop a character. Maybe you’re thinking of Emmit Kelley or Bozo the Clown. Although you can get ideas for character development from them, you want to try and be as original as you can. This clown will be your own personal character that you developed.
Keep in mind and remember that just “looking good” is not a substitute for “looking good”!
Some clowns go with the “white face” style, while others choose to go with the “auguste” style, or even the “hobo” style. That is something you will have to think about and conclude on your own.
A good suggestion would be to take a piece of paper and write down likes, dislikes, character traits, etc.
Maybe your character likes to play practical jokes, or maybe just be quiet. Maybe when your character gets excited, they run around in circles three times when they hear good news. Your best resource for a character is your God-given imagination!
So, start using your imagination and let God work thru you to be the best Gospel Clown you can be.
