Liberty in the Lord
And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2Co 3:13-18
There are none so blind as the religiously blind, whether a man that straps a bomb to his body and blows himself up trying to kill as many others in the process, or a woman that continues her vain worship of a statue, of a young man that spends hours a day chanting to a god that cannot hear. Not only are these blind, but they are in bondage, the very word religion means “to bind”. Paul talked about how the Jews were blinded, or had a veil over their understanding concerning Christ. Then he went on to describe the blessings that a Christian enjoys. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty! Inside the born again Holy Ghost filled believer, where the Spirit dwells, there is freedom and liberty, not the bondage of religion, but a personal relationship with Jesus! He describes us looking at the glory of God as in a mirror, with an open face, no longer blinded and veiled by religious rituals. Then, the best part, he said the Spirit of the Lord is changing us into the same image! As we are looking at Jesus and His glory, the Holy Ghost changes us to become more and more like Him!
Thank God I am free in Jesus!
