"Clown Appetizer's"
You might be scratching your red wig wondering, "What in the world is a 'Clown Appetizer'?" That is a very good question!! It shows that you clowns are indeed intelligent beings. An appetizer is something that stimulates the appetite and is usually served before a meal.
Well, your class could use a good "clown appetizer" before the main lesson. Something to grab their attention and stimulate their grey matter. You will find that this is a fun way to bring your class into focus and will pay off greatly! You really don't need a great, big, huge, gigantic, humongous, enormous, monstrous, colossal.....(whew)....stupendous prop to get the classes attention. "What should I do and where should I look then?", you may ask. Why not use your BIG POCKETS? Imagine that!! What a Great Idea!! (I should have thought of that myself).
Simple props that will fit in 'dem pockets could be two plastic eye balls. Any type will do, but it is best to try and get the ones with the liquid inside so that they eye ball is always looking upward. If you know how to juggle, this is a plus, but if not, then just show the eye balls.

You could start out by saying something like this:

"Did you know I have my daddy's eyes? See, they're right here in my pockets." Pull the two eye balls out of your pockets. You might think this to be icky, but it is sure to get a laugh!!

"I take them with me all the time so I can sing, Ai, yi, yi, yi!"

"Or sometimes I do this!" Hold two eyes on either side of your mouth and scream. "You know what this is?" "Eye Scream".

"I can cross my eyes like this." As you juggle them. (That's if you can juggle).

"If one of them fell on the ground, do you know what that would be?" Drop one. "Eye Drop".

"When I play on the floor with these at home you know what my mom says to me?"
"Don't roll your eyes at me, girl (boy)."
Ask someone to hold their hand out and place an eye ball in their hand. "Oh look, we've made eye contact."

"I put one of these through a spider web and you know what happened?" "Now it's a WEB SITE."

"You know what I really like about these eye balls?" Hold one up and turn it side to side. "No matter which way you turn it, it will always look up. Isn't that they way we're supposed to be? Not looking up at the clouds and sky, but always looking up to God.
Psalms 121(1) says, "I will lift up mine eyes...."

"Hey kids, this reminds me of a story in the Bible. At this point you could tell the story of Peter and the disciples out at sea in a boat at night!!!! And how Jesus wasn't with them and they got scared. You could tell how dark it was and then they saw something walking out on the water that may have looked very scary. Then Jesus said, "Hey fellas , it's me." Peter must have thought, "Yeah, right Lord. If it is then let me come out on the water."
He may have turned to the disciples and said, "Hey guys, watch this!"
You could tell how Peter was walking on the water until the storms and winds came and he got his eyes off of Jesus and (Gulp, gulp, gulp), he began to sink (Pretend to be sinking). Peter took his eyes off of Jesus and got his eyes on the storm. Then you could tell how Peter cried for help and Jesus helped Peter. Jesus told Peter that he needed to keep his eyes on Him.

"Guess what? You want me to show you how to make this eye ball look everywhere besides up? Do you want to see? O.K. watch! (Take an eye ball and shake it real hard). See, when things get crazy on the outside, this eye ball looks everywhere but up. Isn't that just like Peter? And just like us? We need to learn Peter's lesson and keep our eyes looking up and on Jesus."
"Well class, I have to put these eye balls back into my pockets. You know why? Because their private eyes."

Now you can see how something that packs so small, can play very big in your class. What other kind of 'clown appetizers' can you find in 'dem pockets? Whatever is in there, your class will be sure to enjoy it! I GAY-RON-TEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! -Buster Jowels.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS! Philippians 4:8
