A Thankful Soldier I grew up in church but got far away from God. I got invited out and came immediately but if someone wouldn't have followed up on me, I don't know if i would have gone back, or at least in a timely fashion. Probably once every month or two, like i did before. Then i'd probably cry over the fact I knew i should be serving Him.
But thank God somebody prayed for me! I still remember coming back from the field, it was midnite!!! camoflauge on my face, dirty, stressed and as i turned the corner, lo and behold there was the Fired Up Brother, yelling Victory!!! saying, Let's go out to the Servicemen's Home.
I said, It's midnight. I didn't have to be back to work until later the next day and still had to clean up and take a shower and clean my weapon.
He said, No problem, I'll be in the car, waiting for you.
I'll never forget that kind of sacrificing love for another soul.
An hour later, i came out of the barracks, and there in the car, was a man who loved my soul so much, he was willing to sleep in his car, just so that I could go to church and be around some positive brothers before i had to go back out to the field.
Well, I'm saved now, I've given my life to Jesus. It's been a wonderful life. And I know some people who would sacrifice their all to help me.
Thank You Jesus.
p.s. Great site!
